Branch History

The first library opened in Ilderton Presbyterian Church in 1918.  In early 1925 the books were moved to the home of Robert Calvert.  Early in 1933, another move was completed, to Alex W. Scott’s farmhouse.  The library was located at the Scott’s until 1966, when it moved to rented space in the lower level of the Ilderton Legion Hall (the former Continuation School) and became a branch of Middlesex County Library.

In 1994 a new library was built in Heritage Park in Ilderton.  The Arva branch was closed, and the new library was named London Township Library.  After London Township became part of the Municipality of Middlesex Centre in 1998 the name was changed back to Ilderton Library.
